How to give your Baby a foot massage
Reflexology foot massage is an alternative to help your baby’s body to heal itself by detoxifying, relaxing and balancing it. Reflexology can treat some discomforts that your baby may have, such as teething pain, fussiness and irritability, tummy pains, promote a good digestion, or reduce cold and sinus symptoms.
Babies respond incredible quick to reflexology and it is effective and safe. It is based on the principle that reflex points that correspond to specific organs, muscles, bones and body systems can be found on the feet and hands.
Reflexology works very well for most babies and you can practice it by applying gentle pressure to areas in the little feet. (See Baby Foot Reflexology Chart). The thumb walking technique is a good way to give an effective foot reflexology massage to your baby. You can watch this video who shows how to correctly do the thumb walking technique https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqx4YIr6PQs
This is other video is an example of a foot reflexology massage for babies
You can include the reflexology foot massage to your daily baby routine. Keep in mind that this is just an alternative way to relieve common discomfort symptoms, how ever, you should always consult your pediatrician and look for professional advice.
